so does the damper bushing go inside the top of the shock above the piston?(just found a trf415 manual and the bushing goes on top of the silicon stopper and under the end cap not in the actual oil. for those of us out there still learning about dampers).
I looked up 60wt it is about 800cst
I should be getting my belt tensioner today, I thought I would order one when you first mentioned the centre belt was loose

Purchased those Tamiya Pinion gears (#53965) for TRF501X 18T and 19T 48P and a Yeah Racing Spur Gear Support Plate (PK) as well as a yeah racing fast Servo still a cheap servo but not as cheap as the one I have installed.

It looks like an easy installation off the chassis post with a replacement screw!
been playing with these shocks, got them to work with the original springs but had to wind down the adjustment more than I would have liked
followed the test setup shock position at the back of the instructions and gives a better damping effect for the front anyway
set the preload to 50mm and adjusted the ride height to about 6mm on the front still working well in position 3 changed the rear to position 3 and adjusted the rear height to 4mm and preload of 51mm.
looks good and feels nice pretty low but in the test setup its lower than that.

tamiya o rings (#42137)
60wt oil

rear 2 hole piston
tamiya o rings (#42137)
40wt oil
tamiya damper bushing red (part # 53577)
rpm ball link ends white (going to dye them pink)
3racing parts
SAK-58/PK Belt Tension Post (going to use it on the center belt)
3RAC-DP01/PK Aluminum Shock Spring Base Cover 13mm
thats all for now till i get my belts

Can't go wrong with RPM parts and if i remember right your doing this to get rid of some steering slop.
I do wonder about the belt tensioner though, it looks like it would have to be under the bottom pushing up making the top in small bounces come in contact with it's self..
Ok so I just found a pic from a guy that installed a zero belt tensioner and it looks like it will work. I thought it would put the bottom to close to the top and end up catching but seems theres still a nice gap in between.

Ok. I am confused about this so called main belt slop. I dont have any. My belt says 593-S3M-3 going from 13t to 13t. Its perfect.

Been looking into the FDR and wondering what the stock 80 48p spur can take. I've heard a good FDR is around the 6 mark for drifting and if thats right I would like to get there but not sure if a 32T pinion will fit with the 80T spur. Anyone know that has there put together and what are you running for FDR?

When I started csing i was at 10.4 fdr. No down to 7.4. If you fdr too low it will take longer to learn cs imho

working out on drift mission a 78T spur and a 22T pinion give fdr of 7.6 80T and 19T give 9.03 with 20T 8.57, 21T 8.17, 22T 7.79, 23T 7.46
I'm thinking of installing a crossmember where the front bulkhead and the upper deck connect so its wide enough to take the two button screws on each side and drill a central hole to take the tension pulley seems to be the best place to get tension on the belt!

Now that i look at your numbers I see we have different ratios for 80/20.. If your 7.79 is right I could live with that but if my 9.8 is then i would like to drop it down..

are you sure your belt says 593? mine says 519-S3M-3 if yous says 593 then you'd have heaps of slop.
how far can you push the middle of the belt down. with mine the two belts nearly touch when I push down on the top, thats slop

Yeah was looking at 80/20 at FDR of 9.8 but feel it's a little high. I want to stay with my stock 80T spur since I see no reason to change if I can fit a higher T pinion to get the FDR down, just not sure since I havent built it yet. I'm running a 3200Kv motor and feel running to high will over rev it.

I'd go with the sites tools they would be more accurate I've heard the app give strange FDR results on other forums

that is the same thing i am going to do to mine
and wait till you guys see my custom built tensioner for the front
