How are the number of entrants for national teams made/calculated.
I mean the USA only seems to have 4 entrants for the TC, even South Africa has 7 entrants?

Highest is Germany with 21.

The UK incidently has 11

As I understand it the four regional bodies (ROAR, EFRA, FEMCA, FAMAR) gather how many entries their member countries want. This as Larry says often comes down to who wants to go.

IFMAR then pulls those together and agree allocations with the four regional bodies. Host region and country will typically get a higher allocation. Current World Champ in that class gets an entry. Some WCs are massively oversubscribed, others are a way under the maximum capacity.

Why didn't ROAR send a representative to this event? EFRA, FEMCA, etc all have officials present at this IFMAR event...

Controversy at the worlds, lol, taken from redrc.net

The problem in technical inspection, which for what is an event that manufacturers invest so much time and money is totally unacceptable, started as the area became over crowded with drivers either returning or collecting their controlled additive free tyres while drivers from later heats went to the tented area to have there cars checked for battery voltage, ride height, etc. Already congested and with no form of communications coming from officials, the place fell into complete panic when it was discovered some chassis’ had been incorrectly marked earlier in the day and that all 130 cars needed to be rechecked. With no one taking control of the matter almost 2 hours where lost with no track action happening during this time. In the end the delay first forced the postponement of the opening qualifier from this evening to tomorrow morning but then in bizarre move IFMAR cancelled the round on the basis of a chance of rain tomorrow. This move was bizarre because IFMAR issued a controlled wet tyre for the race.

C'mon Paul Lemieux! You can do it!

Drivers have one more round of free practice before the event moves into the more heavily controlled two rounds of ‘Controlled Practice’ with the first of the qualifiers bringing today’s action to a late finish.

the roar rep is either Sean Cochran or bob stetffue so far I think Sean having more experience in these matters has been going in place of bob. the 4 member blocks voted on the no qualifier today and only 5 tomorrow and then still only 3 counting towards the final results. all 4 blocks had to vote and approve all changes. the other issue of the event so far has been how the event organizer complained that the country teams should of been put together instead of by manufacturer team seated together. so all USA in one area and all Germany at another table. one of the ifmar reps was very mad that it didn't get placed that way even tough the manufactures requested a quantity of table spaces for their team members and were giving that option. there are a few more issues but I'll leave them for later....

Wow that is what they are worried about. They arent worried about missing qualifiers because they are ineffecient at tech?

No wonder Roar is a part of Ifmar they seem like they have about the same decision making ablilites.

Stupid...

no dots is nice on the pavement the painted curbing is a bit tricky as without compound you have no traction off line. but I ran my last practice out of 6 and only put it off once so I was happy. got a 14 5:01 so I know I can get a good 15 lapper if I work on it. need to to keep it clean for 3 of them in points it sucks. I can be faster but if you pick the right run to do your best and everybody else fails you can kick my butt in points. seems the tires deal will play it's self out in a battle of wits on when to run new tyres in which round to get the most out of the points system. with only 5 rounds now should be pretty easy though.
