Default M8 Le

I have a limited edition M8 and it comes with a 70mhz module. My question is, do I need to buy a new module if I want to change crystals because the slot where you put the crystals is sealed?!?

Ive asked some local racers with M8s, and they all say the same thing, buy a new module. I dont want the additional expense. Is it posible to just pop the cover off? Will it do any harm to the module?

Yowza, don't buy a new module. Just use a flathead screwdriver or something to pop that little cover off, and change crystals to your heart's content.

It's just taped on there. Use an Xacto blade and pry it off.

Work: Get a Futaba 3PK instead. It has all the features you can imagine of.

Geetoo - the M8 is a great radio - if it wasn't, do you think Kinwald, Baker, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. would be running it?

I know that I'm more than happy with mine. . .

work, just get that stupid little cover off and you can change freqencies all you want.

You change the module if you want to change the BAND of frequencies (27 band, 75 band, 40 band).

You've got a great radio, one of the best, period. Have fun with it!

I, too, love my M8 LE. Not a thing wrong with it at all, it's every bit as good as the Futaba.

Boomer: Thanks! I really enjoy the difference of the M8 from my previous AM radio.

Geetoo is not saying the M8 sucks, its just because its hard to find parts for Sanwa here (crystals, modules, receivers etc...). Anyway I love my M8 so it'll be awhile before I change radios
