Default Battery sizzling!

I took my nimh off the charger and put it to my ear and after a few seconds heard a quitew sizzling, bad or good, seems bad?

EDIT, IT WAS MY HAIR RUBBING AGAINST IT LOL SORRY FOLKS

Thats the sound of a vented cell. Gas pressure built up and needed to go somewhere. I've seen a few cells do that and be OK, most of the time the cell loses performance.

Edit: Nevermind, but if you ever do hear it and its not your hair, then you will know.

I said im pretty sure it was my hair rubbing the cell and i was hearing that ll, but not positive

wait. so its ok? or is it gonna lose performance? it happens to me on most of the first charges of the batteries i buy used.

Most of my batteries makes a "poof" quite often when charging, my dad who is a electrician says it's some kind of venting like Jack S said

haha. I've done the same thing a few times myself. I was so scared I ruined a pack, but then realized it was my hair.

With a little shampoo you hair won't lose much performance. Or you could shave it off to be safe. I hear SMC is coming out with the 35 Amp blonde cells. The Brunette cells are still being tested.

lol, yeah i pretty dumb. But i aint gonna be raing 4 a while, snaped a ball stud and lhs dont have any and cant be bothered to order online lol
