What is this.
I have these parts and have no clue what they are for. Got them from my brother with the rest of his collection and he cant remember.

Schumacher SST98 or 99. What size are the hub bearings?

The rear toe-in rods are molded so I would say it's a SST rally.
As for the two shock towers / body mounts, I can't say but they look like they're from an american manufactured truck. Losi XXT perhaps ? |
Back in the day I raced the SST98 and 99. Notice how almost every current TC mimics the old SST layout? How far ahead of its time was the 98/99 layout?

Not a very valid comparison since modern TCs all have the motor in front of the spur gear. The SST layout was not an innovation so to speak since pretty much every yokomo TC had it before, amongst many, many others.
The earliest car to have the layout we have today was the original 415-or maybe Atlas or T.O.P. had it shortly before, i'm not sure. But if someone has a definitive answer to that, I'd be curious to know. Funnily, I got a picture of an early XXXS prototype ( with CF top and bottom plate) and the motor was behind the spur. |
