Default Sanwa SRG BLS Servo problems

I have just fitted one of these servos in my Xray T3 12. Im a bit concerned because it feels really gritty when I turn the front wheels left to right by hand. Is this normal or have I bought a dud servo ??

what do you mean by gritty?
i have a SRG BL in my T3 12 and it makes clicks when you turn in by hand because it is uses a brushless motor. See if your steering parts are all moving freely, i doubt this servo could have any issues with it since sanwa servos never do, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi, yeah mine is making clicking noises when turned by hand, I didnt know this was because of the the brushless motor, it just feels rough but maybe this is how they are ??? any one else use one of these care to give there thoughts

Mine doesn't feel 'gritty' but makes some noise when it is all powered on., even when not moving.

well if you take a normal non brushless servo like a savox or whatever, it moves smoothly. The brushless motor in your car, if you try turn the shaft, it doesn't free spin does it, it like 1/8 turns because of the rotor magnet and the stator magnetic field. Same with the brushless servo. I still don't know what you mean by grotty though is it hard to turn or getting stuck or something?
and i also get the noise when turned on and not moving, i guess this is normal?
