One of the best places to buy from and socialise. www.mini-zracer.com. BTW, where are you located?? Ron, if your finances allow, consider buying one of the RCP tracks for your home use. They are becoming the industry standard.

im not in it yet but very soon to be! im ordering a mr-02 from tower and when i get it im sending it back out to mini-zracer.com for 2x2 stacking! stacking on a z is like upgrading a speedo on a 1/10th car right? i can use lower turn motors but not nessecarly use more batterys?

Maybe they are becoming the standard on your side of the pond, in Europe however everyone is using either Ozite or Regupol 6510. Especialy Regupol is becoming very popular because it looks and drives like asphalt.

Sorry about that. Should'nt have made that statement based on assumption. I wasn't aware that there were any other choices than carpet and the RCP tracks.....other than possible home made or non rc specific materials. What exactly is Regupol?? I came across something from a Swedish driver referring to a material that was popular there......maybe this is what he was talking about. Tell us about it . Is it more popular than ozite?? Are RCP tracks too expensive?? Thanks

NP Mate, you called it as you see it.

The Regupol stuff is a roofing/insulation rubber mat that is fairly cheap. Its made of old tires grinded up and pressed together. Its has an increddible low maintenence level due to the open structure of the stuff. Dust doesn't gather on it so you'll only have to vacume it 2 or 3 times a year. The usage started in Sweden where by now all tracks (atleast the ones i know of) switched to using it. We'll start using it in a couple of weeks (Belgium). The guys in Sweden pay only 5Euros (about 6.5$) per sqaure meter. About 3sqaure foot i think. Our track (12x5m) (38x16 foot) would cost us 300-350 Euros (390-450$).
I know there is a company in the US or Canada that sells it wholesale, but i'm sure it can be found at large DIY centres.

Regards

Just put the Audi rings (logo) onthe side. Use red for this.

Great to see some interest for the Z cars !!
Serpentfreak, you guy's in Houston are well known. Follow your info on mini-zracer.com. Don't know if that makes you famous or Infamous !!
For those of us who have NO mini-z racing experience....can you guy's make some suggestions for good all around hop ups?? Stuff that would be good for any track. I don't know what kind of surface I'll be racing on yet but I'd like to make the car better wherever it needs to be. Thanks

if its outdoors its usually asphalt stock rubbers will do. tracks are usually indoors most use carpet, others that black rubber mat but you have to use softer tire compounds about 30 degrees. i love Z's cause you can bring'em at the office or play at home.

GP's are great too. for batteries Powerbase are great cause they offer 1000mah AAA's but ofcourse there are some who use some wicked type batteries

upgrades are almost unlimited.
