Post Reedy - 19 Turn spec...should I buy???

Hi,

I'm thinking about purchasing a Reedy - 'Spec Quad 19 turn Mag'.

I'm currently using an Orion - 23 turn rush, and want to upgrade (but not go over board).

I have all bbs and am running a super rooster esc, on a tamiya TT-01 Chasis.

Do you think that this is a good choice??? Would you recommend something different (not concerned with race classes but I think that 19 turn is a good compromise between power and run time)?

Quick replies are greatly appreciated as I'm about ready to make the purchase!

Thanks!!!!

You could also try somewhere around a 14 turn(mild mod)......still pretty good runtime , plenty of torque as well as top end.......a little more fun than a 19turn......especially for playing around

I'm sure you can't go wrong with Reedy motors. They are one of the most experienced manufacturers in our hobby and are well respected among racers.
If they sell it at your LHS, go for it!

Regards

PS: The guy asked for an opinion on a 19t, not a 14t.

Thanx heaps for all ur help!!!

Sounds like the reedy is the way to go.

Furthur down the track if I want to get serious about racing I might buy a new chasis and lower turn mod motor...but this sounds like the best option for now!

Thanx again!

I just bought one of these motors. What spring and brush combo works with the motor and gearing?

Do you have a lathe? I would reccomend that you get a orion v2 instead if you you don't because a 19T will probably require a cut every 10-12 runs when bashing. The v2s can go much longer with out being cut, especially with the enduro brushes. A 16T to 14T would probably be good for bashing.

I have a lathe and I am using this motor for racing not bashing hence the question for the best combo for spring and brushes.
