That looks pretty nice Matt. Are those corners banked up like Tamiya or flat?

very nice...
at least it's car friendly track...unlike SWR. but can't say anything bad about Billy or his track... still one of the best in Norcal.

they're banked up slightly, they were only a couple of inches high so if you hit them your car didn't launch itself like at the Tamiya track.

They look flat in the pictures, but that's really cool if they are slightly banked up, I found that Tamiya can launch cars the hard way

I was actually watching your qualifier when that happened, seeing if I could offer any help on your setup, but it looked pretty good.

It takes a lot of practice to be fast at SoCal, especially when you run up and down the banking 8 times like yesterdays layout. And if you think it was tough yesterday, they sprayed the track with paragon that morning to give it traction, Saturdays club race was looser than I've seen in a while at SoCal, it was rough..

I locked up my center pulley by drenching the 1 way bearing in JB weld and packing it inside the other bearings as well, then installing it on the shaft while it was still wet.

Now what is the reasoning for using a tub chassis over the CF sheet chassis?
Rightly or wrongly I believe a tub chassis works better and more consistantly for people with my sort of ability. And without meaning to be offensive that applies to 99.9% of RC racers.

If only Yoke would make a BD with a tub.

Although this doesnt apply to all the tubs made, there are certain ones that have had a problem with getting tweaked, and once they are, they cannot be untweaked like you can a double deck car. I havent noticed a performance disadvantage from running double deck cars, so I guess I just dont see the need to change it over.

I think tub chassis cars are good for carpet but double deck chassis are good for asphalt. The reason because double deck cars tend to flex a bit more so it seems more forgiving on traction (b/c you cant get enough traction on asphalt ). The BD design is really good because the thin top deck resists from tweaking. SOmeone should make a thicker chassis for the BD!
