I have just got home from Thailand with some close up pics of the special build BD-M that you guys might be interested in.

Check out the parts that have been used on this car
Tamiya suspension blocks (crafty use of a black texta to hide them)
Associated TC5 steering knuckles
HPI/Hot Bodies C Hubs
Special Hardened CGM suspension arms that were molded blanks and specially drilled for this car. The arms had only one shock mount hole and ran 3 mm inner pins, 2.5 mm outer pins
Some drivers fitted Suzuki rear alloy hubs
I also got a chance to talk to Chris Grainger about this car, which was specifically designed for the high grip of the RCS track, but was not enough for when the grip went way above what has been previously experienced in testing.
Chris was struggling with getting the car to steer and maintain the grip required to be fast at this track.
Most of the drivers were not sure if this would be the new production car, but a Japanese magazine present at the track indicates it's not (same as previous pics that have been posted)

Chris was also unfortunate to become sick before the last qualifying round of the first day and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and recovered for the second day of qualifying.
The cause, Chris took a bite of a pizza slice without looking, and the pizza had become infested with ants from sitting around. (on the ground I think)

On the lighter side - You know of the Red Bull drink, how about the new Red Ant pizza

Just wondering if Grainger and Hofer had a chance to try thier more standard car before the race?

Is it safe to say that there won't be a new car anytime soon? or could it be a possibility that Yok may decide not to release anything since it appears they are putting fforts into other avenues of 1/10 onroad (a.k.a Drifting)?

I've been a die hard Yok fan..and have been waiting patiently for the new car.....

Did you get to run the other car you were running in Europe? Just asking since it seems like the worlds car is so different from the cars you and Grainger has been running in Europe....

Thanks for your help.

Purchased the bottom kingpins and tried it today and no lost kingpins!!

Next question is what part number is the white Bx cups and the ball joints.

Als owhat are the rounds open ball joints used on the steering they seem like a better option than the standard ones which are prone to popping off.

Oh few more questions (sorry) any one got the part number for the longer shock bodies, and anyone got a carpet setup for a medium grip carpet on rubber tyres.

Thanks

Craig

I think so, so strange without new design in 2 years, unbelievable for YOKOMO!
As i remember YOKOMO make 2-3 times a year in the renovation in the chassis, until Masaaki leave out, everything changed, from good to bad, i guess!
As i saw from the japanese sites, YOKOMO are promoting more on their imported TC5R in Japan than their own competition kits, i am surely with this horror situation.
But as we know all makes are "retarding" a little bit on the design, at least on this Worlds, just oncentrating only on the BL systems, maybe they thought their own designs are still competitive enough.

I have not raced for 2 years or so. I still have my BD and i am amazed the BD is still the current top of the line kit for Yok. I do hope Yok carry on with the competition side of things. Looking in from the outside it seems like the chassis seem to have hit some what of a wall with all the kits being competitive. I wonder what the next step will be for chassis design!

Just ran the BD in Mod last weekend.. The car was great in all the qualiers considering i've haven't ran mod in years... I qualified 3rd each round but had a horrible main "tire issues".....

I'm gonna start running mod for the most part next season, hopefully I can get better at adjusting to track conditions since it seems to be magnified in mod...
