  • There off the mr4, the TC4 ones fit also.
  • i'll assume the vertical ball stud option goes away with those items? how does the camber link mount? i seem to remember a vertical tab on the old car...

    please advise.

we should be able to make 4* work. personally, i always try to make that work anyway, as going away from that often yields on oddly driving car.

    thanks.
  • Older car parts and help.
This is by far the most active Yokomo thread I have been able to find on the net, so I thought I would ask here.

    Anything mr4-tc (sp custom worlds)
Looking for parts, spurgears, etc..etc.. - older stuff not drift, not shaft drive. This is the 2000-2002 belt drive car.

Also looking for help - information, setup suggestions. I got this car for almost nothing with lots of spares but for a few items.

    1. Any places that are good to get older parts? Stormer Racing is showing a few left.

    2. the 414TS ( King pins using screw and sleave) These would work in the older car fine right?

    3. 4wd all time? 1 way on front? 1 way on front and main spur gear. I am not sure I understand the pro's and cons of these setups? I have the stock spurs with an adaptor (non std gear) I have a one way adapter that works with Kimbro gears etc.. but I need the front pully. Can I put a oneway spur in with no one way up front?

As this is old stuff you dont have to answer me here.. pm me or send me an email if you would like to help.

    Thanks

    James
  • Do a search for Yokomo on the forsale thread. There was a guy last week trying to sell hundreds of different parts for your car.
  • speedy-932...nice job on the chassis Will you be producing them??

    Quote: Hi,

finally finished my drawings on the new chassis.
It will be 14mm narrower with the batteries moved a bit more to the centerline (1mm, more isn't possible).

And because I have the drawing for the 6-cell chassis I made some possible designs for the 4-cell class in Japan. They aren't finished but you can see how much narrower you cuould buil a chassis with the servo turned by 90 degree.

    Cheers

  • Hi,

@SchuMi2: If a few guys are interested, yes. I just have to think about a few things because I recognized that my KO 2363 won't fit because it is too wide... so perhaps it will be just 10mm narrower...

    Cheers

  • speedy-932....put me down for one....the interest is there
  • Hi,

hm... I changed the drawing a bit so the chassis is only 6mm narrower then before. But now every servo should fit on the chassis. You just have to cut of one holder of the servo and glue it on the chassis... works fine...
I will make the chassis of 3mm carbon without any cut outs. The only ones are for the batteries. Even no motor cut out. I found that it is not necessary. A fan helps a lot more then those cut outs which hurts the chassis stiffnes.

  • it won't hurt to have a narrow chassis....

put me down for one too. how thick will the chassis be???
  • Hi,

    like I said: 3mm.

  • chris , have u tryed this out yet if yes is it any better then the standed chassis. how much are they going to be??
  • Hi,

I haven't tried this chassis yet. I ordered a sheet of carbon to make one in the next 2 weeks and try it.
Another german driver uses one and like it a lot. He sais that the car reacts better on setup changes and has more steering in-corner.

  • How do you guys overcome the cvd's pin from coming out from the cup ? It tore apart my rear upright. I also notice the pin is not long enough to perfectly flush ( flat ) to the outside diameter of the cup.

Last year, my SD get the same problem..... the front steering knuckle kissed good bye

    Any suggestion ?
  • Hi,

    2 possibilities:
Go to the hobby store and buy 1.5mm spring steel and make your own pins. They work. Just try to get hardened spring steel.
Or you buy the pins from Alex Racing for the Barracuda R2/R3. Speedtech carries them. I use them in my SD and they work perfectly.

    Cheers

  • Hi,

I received a mail from a man who is able to make the chassis.
The price for the chassis plate would be 85$ and the top deck would cost 30$.
Both are made of high quality 3mm CFK on a CNC machine. Everyone who is interested can drop me a mail or a PM.

    Cheers
    Chris
