Right now I don't have any problem balls cups popping out. I used the associated short ball cups works pretty good. I like my car nice and simple.

use ca glue to fix the the edge and the holes.
use washer top and bottom ( sandwich style ) so the screws don't flex.

asw7576: thanks for posting the pics...nice mod you have there. Correct me if i am wrong but your mod seems to have not only solved the popping ballcups problem but also the the kingpin thread stripping problem in the hubs.

Might just give this mod a shot but may shorten the xray connectors instead of buying shorter turnbuckles and see how well it holds up.
Here is the mod I did to my BD

For shock pictures, I also use MTX4 ball end connectors. The ball end fits into yokomo shock connectors SS and SSS.

Default LCG steering plate

Jochim,
the LCG aluminum steering plate will fit the BD...but a little drilling will have to be done to the plate. The big down side to this is that you will pick up the same steering slop the LCG utilizes from the bearings.

the LCG position the servo arm pivot ball in a layed down position but the BD steering plate pivot ball is in a stand up position.
if you drill dead center (where the zero mark is on the steering plate) and place the pivot ball standing up it should work...it works but it's a really tight fit. You will have to get just the right servo saver and use the open head Yokomo ball cup.

I may try it again in the next few weeks with the LCG hopup plate with the +- 1.5 ackerman adjusment, if I could find a pivot ball with a L shape at the thread I wouldn't have to drill it.

Hi,

since I bought my BD last week I had two amazing test days.
On the first evening I found a fast setup but it pushed too much.
So I tested different spring combinations and used different suspension blocks.
My setup ended here:

FRONT:
Front one-way
One-way centre pulley
No roll bar
Non-trailing steering blocks
4* castor blocks
1.5 camber
Skid mount angle:0*
0mm under both susp. mounts
Droop: 6
Wheelbase: 4-0
Rayspeed white springs
50wt oil
3 hole piston
No bumpstop
0mm under camber link
2nd from inner hole on tower
Middle hole on wishbone

REAR:
0* hubs
1.5 camber
2* toe in
0 mm under susp. mounts
Droop: 5mm
Wheelbase: 2-2
Rayspeed white springs
40wt oil
3 hole piston
No bumpstop
Std link locations on hubs
0mm under camber link
Outermost hole on tower
Outer hole on wishbone

Body: Mazda 6
Tires: Sorex 28
Inserts: JB blue-yellow-blue
Rims: Xray Hard rims

The car had tons of steering. And it was fast. I drove my fastest laptimes ever with this car.
I found that the white springs work better then the blue ones all around because the car rolls more and doesn't have that much body roll.

Cheers
Chris
