I think the shaft is the layshaft. Instead of the steel one this one is probably titanium (lighter). And the belts are probably more flexible. I can't imagine they'll be lighter... All I know is I'm trying it all.

Default slop?

I finally got to race my BD today. I put the same setup on it that I used w/ my LCG (some minor changes) and it rocked. Super smooth, more corner speed, and quicker transitioning. Lost a motor in the first heat, then a tire in the second . Qualified last in the A, then worked my way through traffic, took the lead at about lap 10, then cruised to victory. The car was dialed! I ran a tenth faster than I ever did with the LCG.

Then I ran some mod after the races, and it drove great. I think the flex in the belt helped with drivetrain wear, b/c I could break a front axle w/ straight line acceleration on the LCG, but everything was in tact w/ a whole pack on the BD.

My only concern is the steering rack. It has a good amount of "seesaw" slop. What can I do to take out that slop?

Saw you did well at the end today. I see the track experiment didn't turnout so bad for times after all. See you in Augusta next week.

Here, here! I am happy with my chassis as well. Some minor flaws fixed easily with a drimel, file and sandpaper, and it was ready to go. Thanks Jim, we are happy.
