From the way the spur gear mounts so low it doesn't seem like we'll be able to use any bigger than around a 105 tooth spur, maybe a couple of teeth higher but you get my picture.

matt howard.

just wondering what your opinions of this car were in regarding to running carpet/foams with it...

how thick is the upper and lower chassis and do you think the upper deck is a little thin/flexible for high grip racing like carpet/foams?

are there even any team yokomo drivers in the U.S. that race foams?

Myself and Jason Schreffler are two team yokomo guys that race foams, I prefer the CGM but I think schreff prefers the rayspeed car. We haven't seen the car first hand yet in the states but I can assure you that Yokomo USA has already considered a thicker chassis if the stock one turns out to be too flexible. It's kinda good that the car is coming out at the end of the carpet season to give us time to see if we do need a thicker chassis. At least the rear diff will work up front so we're not piecing together a diff like the tamiya 415 guys have to do

Thats exactly the kind of info I needed about this kit. Our carpet season ends in 6 weeks, this car looks like it will work very well on asphalt. However i did not want to buy a car that I wouldn't be able to use next carpet season. The layout of the car looks like it may be quite stiff, we will all soon find out.

I don't see why you couldn't by using the losi spool pads. That's the way I built my spool for my SD and if the rear diff can be used up front then just put in the spool pads and your set.

As soon as the car is available, we will have our engineer do up the drawings for the spool for this car as well. It'll be close, but we should have them available before the Reedy Race

Man, I really wish I was in the states to run the Reedy this year. Masami is already faster than his SD with the new car so he should be rockin at the Reedy. He's also supposed to attend the LRP race with the new car

It sounds like you have some insiders information. So what can we expect from the cars handling?
