Default 4-cell Battery Charging question

I am looking to get into 1/12 scale racing down the road (local club level, nothing more than that), and I'm looking at cost of the things I need. One of the things I'm looking at is battery charger. I have a Duratrax Intellipeak charger (the duel one that you can charge 2 packs at one). I'm confused as to if I could use it to charge 4-cell packs with it. It says it's for 6-7 cell packs (at 3.5 amps), but I read on sitelike Tower that all intellipeak chargers are good for 4-8 cell packs. Can anyone help me out with this?

also if that doesn't work, what's a decent AC/DC charger I can get realtively inexpensive

These would probably be the people to ask... http://www.duratrax.com/index.html It only charges a 3.5 amps so it should work....
