How to trim body posts
What is the best way to trim the body posts? Ive seen some pics of cars people have here and they are just barely sticking out of the shell. Do you buy posts that are smaller or just do the basic cut with plyers and paint the tip of the post with a black texter?

Cut, then smooth them with a dremel, sand paper, file, whatever. If you see a need you can paint them. /thread

If you want it to look really clean, ABC has a tool for this. it works like a pencil sharpener and gives a nice chamfered end. for me, i just leave the posts full length, poking up in the air, i consider them body protectors when driving inverted.

This has always been my favorite, but I've had to trim a pretty high volume of body posts, so the $15 was well worth it.

Steak knife - apply light pressure away from the knife.

Post cutter
Or you could spend two dollars and get a vinyl hose cutter from the hardware store. They are plastic with a hinge and razor blade on one side. And a v on the other centers the post and just squeeze perfect cut every time.

I use an X-acto knife to trim my body posts and then to get the nice bevel I remove the posts from the chassis and chamfer the edges by twirling the post on the flat part of a cutting wheel on my Dremel.
