Is the Cyclone a Lipo Friendly car? I thinking about getting one for 17.5 sedan/RCGT. Is it hard to take a Cyclone and make it a "S"?

Hey guys I just picked up a a used TC and I have a few questions. I noticed that the guy I bought the car from has the purple rear uprights and he has the graphite ones on the car. Which is better to run and which ones do you guys have on your car? Thx guys.

Keith,
I have always run the standard kit hubs. The aluminium parts do hold up better, but only by shifting the force of an impact on to other parts (hinge pins, A-arms). The standard parts hold up nicely and most racers use them throughout the entire car.

If the aluminium hubs are 1 degree (as opposed to the stock 0 degree) you could use them as a tuning tool if traction drops really low.

Enjoy your new ride.

Keith,
I run the alloy uprights on my TC, as there was a bad batch of rear up rights, that were showing i think around about .5 degree toe difference from side to side

hey just a quick question on the version 3 spool. Are the optional pom outdrives plastic or steel? they look plastic as there looks like a cover to slide over the outdrive but just wanted to clarify.

I think all the hubs that came with the kit are bad. I am not sure how to identify which are good and which are bad, perhaps Hiro can help. The hubs that came with my kit showed close to 1 degree difference between left and right.

They are a type of delrin. It's the same material that is used in the standard kit rear diff outdrives in the TC kit. They work great!

I've put that on the shelf and I'm dusting off the TC.
Our indoor carpet season starts up this week.

I've read through about 50 previous pages with no luck, but what lipo packs wil fit without the lipo conversion or any type of modifying? I should have my cyclone tc the beginning of next week so I'd like to go ahead and get me a lipo ordered as well! Beginner question here, the only tc i've owned was a t2 and I've only had it for about a month. When I got it, it came with the lipo,esc/motor and servo. It was already balanced left to right. Are the small weights that the previous owner used to balance it the best thing out there to use or is there something better? I'd like to do the cyclone right so if there's something out there that I can use to balance it better I'd like to know about it.

@AndysD8 I use a SMC 4000 35c pack wich is thinner than my SMC5000 packs, and that fits with no mods at all. The taller packs you just have to dremmel 1mm of the bottom off the mount..hope that helps.
