Racers, I am in the mood to try the Cyclone but not shore which one to get there is the Hara and the Moore, the Moore cost a little more but what is the difference between the two? now if I decide to go with the Hara what do I need to get to race on carpet? does the Hara come with two diff? and if not what about the Moore does it come with two diff? that all for now thanks.

none of them come with 2 diffs, if you are going to run carpet you need to get the BMI chassis conversion there are a few BMI cyclones for sale in the forsale forum here is one of them http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=147108

On both my Clones; Surikarn and Moore, the spur runs true.... and this was without ever thinking I needed to add an additional grub screw....

However you do need to be sure you tighten the spur screws up evenly.... (Just a thought)

Just another thought... I also use spacers to take up the gaps/slop between the pulleys, spur hub, and bearings on the layshaft... this may help in ensuring the spur runs ture.....

I've been reading all this about diffs and broken screws and such and all I can say is it must STOP! I start paying attention to my diffs and I break my first diff screw!! Sheeesh!! I'm kidding of course.... at least now I had some options on how to fix it because the LHS had no HPI diff screws.

you dont want any tips from me in carpet you want to ask Schreff or L.Fairtrace they are really good on carpet , i ran schreff 's setup for foam and did as best as I could, for rubber I used my asphalt set up. but this was my second time running carpet (but im working on a carpet track for me and a few friends of mine in Florida )

I have owned 3 cyclones but built 4 cyclones total and have never had any problem with the Spur Gear running true. Andy Moore and Hara no longer run the carbon spur holder because there is less rotating mass without it, and not because the spur gear doesnt run true.

It runs true if you use all 4 screws on the spur and tighten it as you would a top-deck. If you cheat a little and only use two then it will sometimes warp the gear.

As for the alu carrier running out, the two grub screw thing does help. (I had to do it with mine way back to get it to run true..)

My Surikarn came with a center one-way as well. I think they all do.
