If the diff was a little loose and loosened itself up a little bit more then with the amount of power tthe brushless motor gives out the pulley would have been able to spin by itself, slipping on the outdrives. This causes a lot of heat from the friction and that's why all the plastic is melted.

With the aluminium diff any heat build up will be dissipated better into the outdrives and it would probably take a lot more to melt the pulley.

the diff was brand new and really smooth and quiet tight.i stop driving it as soon as it started to slip.the metal plates actually 'turned' on the out drives.to pull the off the plates off the out drives i had to melt them off with a heat gun.the diff doesnt look like it melted or got hot.but i have to say, that it was a shit load of power

No Street racing!!!!! I have found this does more damage than any track...not that this caused the diff to expire...my suggestion is to test the diff onthe track before giving it a fist full.

if your new alum diff outdrive can melt like that i predict you are using 1 turn motor.

Don't make me take another picture of mine Larry.

Larry, Goop, Bill Sydor, and myself all have the current rendition of the BMI Cyclone chassis kit. In fact, Larry has Jason's personal Surikarn car. I can't believe Jason sent that to him. Then again, Larry has his own Surikarn car, but doesn't have the chassis kit yet.

We are all going to Vegas with this car. I really can't wait. With all the testing we have done in the past month, the car has far exceeded my expectations.

Please be patient with the kit guys. I believe Jason is about 90% complete with the kit design. The only thing left is to change the corner posts and center bracing a little - just for cosmetics.

I wouldn't doubt you'll see the kits available for sale by next week.

Default BMI Kits

I am in the market for a new car and assumed I would get the Cyclone kit. Are the BMI kits going to be a complete car, and if so what ballpark in price?

Or is this an anftermarket add on to my existing kit?

Thanks in advance
