I know HPI has other good drivers to keep driving the Pro4, but lets be honest, theres really only one guy doing the winning with it. To me, they NEED Hara right where he is, and focused on winning with the Pro4.

You're right... seems they want to promote HB badge using top drivers since HPI is well known all over the world. The prototype looks promising and eventually win more races this year....sure of that!

Under TEAM HPI WORKS CAFE in Japan:

Surikarn Chaidajsuriya is part of the HPI team.

I think HPI wants to operate like Tamiya. One belt and one shaft...

Yes.

Probably Yokomo is going to continue the SD in Rayspeed and they come out a belt drive car under Yokomo.

But the first company adopt this strategy is Tamiya. TRF414 and TB EVO series.

What's the big deal about belt or shaft, Isn't it all the same thing?

Oooh let's not go there! Go back a few years on the forum threads and read the arguments for/against shaft

MCollins - I could only wish!

Guys...this is a Hot Bodies Touring Car. Not an HPI car.

Wether shaft or belt, I think there is a potential difference between both drivetrains. Shaft has more torque than belt thus advantageous on stock racing, downside of shaft is torque steer that creates on corners. New HB design has been a trend for many brands now since motor placement is for the balance. It eliminates torque steer plust the belt factor. Belt runs cooler for motors, top end speed is slightly better though. Just a thought.
