Actually toyota and lexus are the same company...lexus is just the "luxury" line for Toyota...

Airtronics and Sanwa - not sure...I think just different importers, kinda like in the old days when AE imported Yokomo in the US and MRC brought in Tamiya

I dunno...not trying to decifer corporate strategies or structure...just saying what I know about HB

Sawna and Airtronics are the same company. Airtronics is the U.S. name for Sawna.

More to the point that HB doesn't actually design its own vehicles...AND!! it adds to Frank's statements that the Pro4 will not be removed from production...

Either way...nice car i was only making comments about the HPI and HB being the same company

Check out his t-shirt? Nah, I missed that...

What I did check out was the Racer news in Car Action's March 2005 issue.

If Surikarn isn't with HPI, then they got it wrong as well....

SURIKARN NOW WITH HPI

2002 ISTC World Champ Surikarn Chaidajsuriya has moved to HPI from Tamiya and will run the Pro 4 and the R40 for the '05 racing season. Surikarn will continue to power his cars with his signature series Peak Vantage motors and Peak GP3300 SP cells.

Then you wil have to consider the fact that they were wrong, as it has been made clear by most well informed websites that he was moving to Hot Bodies and not HPI. He was driving the pro4 onl because that HB car wasn't ready I believe.

I have no problem considering that they were wrong. But dude was acting like I just pull that info out of my azz or something.

There was a basis for what I said. If that basis was wrong, then he could have given some basis for what he was saying. Something other than saying look at a T-shirt...

Soooo.......

Since Surikarn's status seems to be uncertain, let me re-ask the question.

What happens with Hara and HPI and the Pro 4. He is still sponsored by them right?

Hara may be good, but he can't drive two cars at once...

Hara drives the Hammer 12 for Hot Bodies already. Besides, the two companies are very close so I don't see it being a problem. Hara's been racing the pro4 for 3 years now (if you include its prototypes) nd has got enough wins with it I should think.

I see the two of them are close, but it still seems odd. HPI have a very, VERY, good car. Why would they want to give up their main driver?

And what about HPI's customers? From what I've seen on message boards, some people really, REALLY , care alot about how the car they drive does at the big races. Once, I even heard a guy here on the boards admit(while bashing another car) that "when the team guys win with 'my' car, I feel like I've won" O K A Y.....

...So to those 'special', people like that, how is it fair to them to have the main driver for 'their' company, not driving 'their' car when he is in fact an employee of that company. I hope I said that right so you get what I mean...

Hmmmm....I guess HPI and HB have worked all that out though.

going to the discussion of does HB = HPI? I feel that they are under the same roof. I say this because if you look on HPI racing's japan website, you can see HPIs new off road mini monster. But over here in the good old US that mini monster is now a Hot Bodies.
What i think they are doing is trading products just for the sake of the name. Because many people that i have talked to here think HB is offroad, and if they suddenly bring out an on road car, people would question it, but if HPI brings out a new on road car, people would buy it because of the name.

But anyway, i think this new car would be great no matter what name it comes out under. And I actually like the anodized purple color for once.
