Default Trinity D5 Tuning

What are the hot setups on this motor? I have the 9x2 version. Brushes, springs, gearing, etc. I'm thinking of trying this motor out. Thanks.

I would start with the 4380EPNT brush, purple springs, and run abotu 15-18 deg of timing. Gearing........ depends. They are a good all around motor with good torque and RPM. It's one of my favorite motors. Just make sure to narrow the brush to the samw width as a standup brush.

What about 9.68 gearing with 10 degrees of timing? This is on a medium sized asphalt track. And should I shave the trailing edge?

Not sure about your gearing...

Trinity has a 4383 big serrate brush that is awesome. You can also run their all new silver brushes. The silvers are more money, but last 3x's longer. Definitely narrow the brush as said before. Start with purple/purple springs and 15 - 18 degrees of timing. If you find that the motor is not getting up to speed to quick enough go to a heavy silver spring on the +.
