I am sure you wont be the only one. Production will definately be down for anyone who is in the RC community.

We plan on covering this event so that it will almost be like being there....... of course minus the strippers

the rest of us are at work.

I think there are 2 or 3 phases to the tram out there.. Is it finished between the hotels? Does it stop at the Stardust and is it out to the airport yet?

I am not certain the monorail goes to the airport yet, I was over at the Hilton last night and the monorail connects it to Bally's on the strip, and I think a few others. Stardust is a bit to the north/east on the strip, right next to Circus Circus. It's about a 10 minute walk to get from here to the corner of Spring Mountain and the Strip, which is the Treasure Island/Venetian area, and then another 10-15 minutes to get down to the "heart" of the strip with Caesars, Bellagio, Paris, Aladdin, etc.

To answer some other questions people had earlier:

a) They do check room keys pretty heavily to get into the tower. Each of us had to have a key on us to get to our room. I know people like cram 3-4 people into the rooms, so if you do, expect to pay the additional person fee to get a key (or have very limited access to your room as a result).

b) The Tower at the Stardust (not the villas, they suck) seems closest to the ballroom, and is also where the majority of the rooms are.

c) There is a limited amount of free guest parking outdoors (no parking structure that I can find) as well as valet. I haven't had a problem finding a spot.

For 24 hour food, I recommend the Surf Buffet at the Boardwalk, about a 25 minute walk from here or a short cab ride. They have a $9 buffet that goes all night long, only place on the strip. If you want to spend more and eat during regular hours, we usually hit the Spice Market Buffet at the Aladdin, it's about $25-30 but it's some of the best food anywhere, all in buffet form. And of course you will get a couple of Stardust buffets with your race entry.

Hey Guys,

as a local of Las Vegas, here is the rundown....

The "Monorail" as some might call it, DOES NOT connect to the airport, let alone to the Stardust..

here is the link to the monorail: http://www.lvmonorail.com/#

anyways, there's great food on the Strip as you are all aware, but there is great stops just "off" the Strip as well.....

behind the Stardust is Industrial Road, this is like where all the "Taxicab Confessions Stuff" happens (if you know what I mean )

and the Brand New Wynn Resort (scheduled to open on the 27th of this Month) will be the most anticipated opening in Town since Steve Wynn (the owner, tellin by the name...) opened his old casino which is now owned by MGM Grand, the Bellagio......

anyways, Wynn Resort is accross the street, Fasion Show Mall and the Forum Shops (@ Ceasars Palace) are all walking distance from the Stardust...(for all of ya's whom are bringing "significant others'") "sorry"

anyways, the weather will be awesome in September (warm in the day, cool @ nights)

lookin forward to it!!!!!
