well i took my motor apart the other day and like the shims came off and like stuck to the magnets and now i dont know where they go now- theres three shims -two on bottom, one on top or two on top and one on bottom or does it not matter?

The best thing to do is center the arm from scratch. Begin with no spacers and spin the arm to allow it to center itself. Then note the amount travel the arm has in either direction. Add spacers untill there is a small amount of movement.
