Default 4.5T or 5.0T for 1/12 ?

Hi,

I am thinking of getting the 4.5T or 5.0T for 1/12.
But I noticed that the Kv rating is much higher compared to others.

For instance, the Duo3.5 5.0T is rated for 9000Kv and 4.5T is rated for 9300Kv. Is that real ?

Compared to Nosram Pure 2, or LRP X20, 5.0T is only 6900Kv and 4.5T is 7600Kv.

How should I gear it for 1/12 then ? which rollout should I use ?

Any advise ?

Companies measure KV in different ways which makes comparing them nearly impossible. If you go with the D3.5 just start with the gearing a little milder than you normally would for each wind and go from there. I dont think enough people have ran them in 12th modified to give you a good answer yet.

Kv also varies with timing, so going from a few degrees or timing to maxing out your timing will greatly vary a Kv rating. That's why Kv ratings are silly with sensored motors.

Big open track 4.2 range. Small track some where close to 5 I would imagine.

Check your ESC these motors are fast in my TC and other cars in my area. I had to change my setup to get more steering!

Default mounting holes

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone got problem with the mounting holes on 1/12.

The mounting holes is such that if I use a top & bottom holes layout, the motor connector will be angle 30~40 degree. If I want the motor connector to be on top, I will need to use the 2 lower holes together. But is the motor mount "stable" enough to use the 2 lower holes ?
