For example, F1RCGP races are still open to 200mm wide chassis and foam tire.

Here in Spain (Europe) there are no rules about front axles or control tyre, most people use F103 200 mm with foam tyres or even Corally F1 cars with pro10 tires, and all cars run together. This car can be a good option here. I run one F104 type car on rubber Shimizu tyres.

They have to include the front end because what else do the have to offer. Just that odd rear axle set up.
These front ends are allowed in Japan but Tamiya is by far the prefered front end,F103 or F104. Tamiya is just so cheap and easy to maintain over anything else.
