Here's a great article about charging nimh's: Charging/Batt Care

I think the best way to do with a nicad charger is to monitor the temp of the batts.

yes its suitable. I hear that the cutoff is around 40mv across the pack so its perfect for nimhs and as its linear its the best way to charge nimhs so yes, its okay for nimhs.

I've still got one of those. It's spot on for modern NiMh. The delta is 40mV (fixed) which is ideal for the cells that we use now. It has a good linear charge, so it's fine.

yeah i do. The only cell i wouldn't use it on would be Panasonic 3000's as 40mV delta is a little high.

Just use what ever charge current you usually would, somewhere in the region of 5-6A.

No, like i said you can't alter it, it's fixed. A little lower might be better, but 40 should be fine.

That should be ok providing that you don't want to charge at more than about 6A.
