Honestly! Tc4 is the way to go. Parts are at any and every hobby shop if needed. You'll be competitive out of the box and upgrades are cheap.

A TC4 is a good choice for a USVTA/VTA car
I personally use the HPI Sprint 2 Sport
Durability-wise (IMAO) the S2 can take more "abuse" than a TC4 (or Sak) and still be drive-able
TC4 is more widely used than the S2 for USVTA/VTA
I know most of the Achilles's heals that the S2 has...
But not the TC4 ...
I do know that a TC4 will not pass through a cinder block wall without an oscillator overthruster -
There's a TC4 thread = http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...iated-tc4.html
And DARKSIDE is pretty much the TC4 guru = http://www.rctech.net/forum/members/darkside-57159.html
What ever you choose...
Good luck & welcome to the wondrous world of USVTA/VTA Racing!!!

Hey Nick check out the tc4, it's probably your best bet. Trains stocks all the parts for the car. Also talk to PAPO be was selling a complete setup for a really good deal!!
