cdc charger - charging transmitter batteries - help!
hello
i am having problems charging my transmitter batteries with my cdc charger
ver6.0b
futaba 2pl with 8 x energizer 2300mah nimh batteries
the batteries get really warm, the last time i charged them they got pretty hot that it slightly melted one of the corners of the battery holder
i have the charger set to 3mv charging at 2.0a
what am i doing wrong ?

If you are charging them directly in the battery holder, that could be a problem as well. The contacts in the holder were not meant to take a 2 amp current, and could be heating up a lot. Besides, AA nimh batteries shouldn't be charged that quickly. Go with what Matt suggested, .5 amp to be on the safer side

I'm charging 8 NiMh AA 1100 mAh at 1 amp and 3 mV cut off. Works well. These are Varta AccuPlus.
However, I have some no-name cells, and if I charge them as single cells, the CDC sometimes dont cut off. Same setting as above.

I have the new Energizer 2500 mAh and charge them at 0.5A. I also use an 8 AA battery holder from Radio Shack. Pack temp is just warm, not hot. Only problem is it takes several hours to charge them at 0.5A
