I think you should read our review of the TC4 where that's mentioned. It's not about the "bottom line" all the time. If the car sucked and a magazine said it was perfect that's different.

To summarize what Derek said: read XRC.

Default 100% correct

When a magazine reviews a car, and rates it, Do you really think there going to bite the hand that feeds them. All ratings in all magazines are scewed to a degree. I'm not saying there bad, just never base your decision on buying a product based on what a magazine says, or how they rate a car, because your not going to give a tc4 a 6 and watch AE pull advertising from you.

the early days of xtreme were good, because they were not many advertisers, gone are those days, they have become just as political as all the rest. (i know you talking about car action)

To the article? We happen to have that one online, so, sure:

1. Go to www.rc411.com
2. Click on "Testing"
3. Click on "Review Archive"
4. Click on "Associated TC4"
5. Click the "Subscribe" banner at the top

All reviews are bogus? I don't think so!

Do you have any factual evidence to back up that kind of statement? No way.

Take the TC4 for example. We pointed out just about every negative thing that has been mentioned about it, including the slop and a few other issues. What was our final rating for the car? First, read the conclusion. Second, look at the numbers. Now, are you going to tell me that the numbers are bogus? If so, I'd love to hear your argument.

Keep in mind that the TC4 has made it into the show at just about every major race it has entered, including the Worlds. I know there are haters out there, but just because somebody is an anti-fanboy doesn't mean a car deserves a low rating.

a R/C magazine will never say a R/C car sucked.

If anyone is into computers, pick up maximun PC, If a product sucks they tell you, when they make mistakes they tell you.

Xtreme dont get me wrong, I love your rating system with the chicks, some arguments could be maid for giving one chick a 9 and another an 8, but still, good idea =)

BTW I know nikki and she was the best one you had yet

Define "sucking" in terms of an RC car. Does it go forward? Does it turn? Does it last a 5 minute run without falling apart?

Computers are a completely different game. You can't benchmark an RC car (although we tried last summer with our TC Shootout). You buy a CPU, if you could get better performance from something cheaper, it's pretty cut and dry. The RC world is 100% different. You can't compare the two.

I think that is just an oversight by our art guy. That particular article was written by me, and the photos for most of our reviews are by our photographer Jason.

Let me guess. You own a Mad Force and don't like Traxxas?

What was wrong with the Mad Force review? Please refresh my memory.

If only we sold out because it would stop the phone calls and emails after we point out problems in the cars we test. Any manufacturer out there who want to buy my please spell my name right on the checks, because I don't see it.

I know everybody loves to say "their" opinion is the best but in truth many of the people that cry foul own one car and read something they didn't like and call the MIB in to service. You guys crack me up. I'm glad to see a post that makes no sense so I can laugh and bang my head against the wall at the same time.

Oh...you wrote that review? It must REALLY suck then

Sorry...with everyone bashing the magazines..I thought I had to contribute...

don't forget that the numbers are subjective and cars are rated in their class and to their market.

The Tamiya Wild Willy is the best little wheelie jeep kit on the market that I know of...so it should rate highly!

As a race car it would rate..on a scale of 1 to 10...about -372.8
