Is there a chart that shows all the tamiya sponge foam tire part numbers and compund differences. I am wondering what a good starting point is for the foams for the f104 for carpet racing. thanks all

Seems common philosophy is to mount battery forward with esc in back. Why not more conventional battery in rear esc in front?

It makes the wiring terrible the further forward you place the esc

Less wire means less weight and it looks even better

Most of us using shorty packs at our track run them toward the rear to get more weight for traction. I may try it a bit more forward and the esc behind it to see what it does.

I am not really worried about wiring or weight I was more concerned with the balance. I ran at IIC and was taking steering away the whole the time, but I also new the car was a bit out of balance because I had a full pack in the car and the electronics on the "side wings". Now I have a shorty pack, an looking for better balance when I get to run the car again. Thanks for the input.

During practice the center ball joint and one side link broke.
Didn't even get to race it.

The same thing happened to me last year.

I do recommend upgrading the Pitch damper on the F104v2 to the Tamiya RC TRF special damper, as on an outdoor track, the stock pitch damper has popped open after a few incidents - http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=53901

Yep. I have the blue trf damper in place. It was not even a hard hit.

I've noticed that the 21.5 motor of choice is the Reedy Sonic. Is that motor considered to be the best of the allowed spec motors? Just curious.

The problem is the m2x5mm cap screws for the links. 5mm is too short causes the links to break at the ball ends. I've replaced mine with m2x8mm screws and haven't had an issue since.
