Some very serious racers in here are running Turnigy Nanotech packs with good results. I have one 5300 50C pack and have no complaintsm, it's better than most of my brand name LiPOs

Whatever pack you get, make sure they are ROAR APPROVED , or else you might not be allowed to race....

Check to see IF you need a ROAR approved pack before buying? Yes.
Intentionally purchase something you may never need without checking first, based on the suggestion of a stranger on the internet? No.

I am always helpful . Roar Approval is helpful !

Here is some more help : Gens Ace 2 S 5000mah 50C pack for $40.50 , and it's ROAR APPROVED !

I have been told that it has to be at least 60C or else i will lack punch and top speed. Is this true?

C ratings on lipos are similar to the watts per channel ratings on stereo gear... the seller puts just about anything on their sticker and there's no standard for how it's measured. A higher rated pack can provide more punch. Whether or not you believe the rating on the sticker...

did anyone benchmark these lipo batteries in order to check / compare.

I don't know about testing packs against each other, but I rely on what I see them do on the track with top drivers behind the wheel..... That's the best test there is !

Hi, I did some benchmark tests:

Will soon test some Turnigy and update the info.

Turnugy and Zippy. Enough Said.

I have the 50c Gens Ace 5000mah and the 65c Turningy nanotech 6000 packs and I personally think the Gens Ace packs have a little more punch. Plus I like that they are slightly lighter cuz they are only 5000mah. C rating isn't everything. It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Also, I could give a top notch racer a turd battery, and chances are they'd still kick my butt while I have a higher quality battery.
I'm not sure about the ROAR approved comment either. Unless the track is sanctioned by ROAR, most tracks will accept hard cased lipo's unless otherwise stated. If the track requires Roar approved that's one thing, but many tracks do not.
