Default TT-01D XB Nissan Silvia Coppermix

Hi,

I have XB TT-01D, with hpi 7.2v 3300mah battery.

I would like to use Lipo battery, can the stock ESC and motor handle it?

Or I have to get a better ESC and motor?

If I have to buy a new motor, which motor is good for drifting?

I mean not the best motor, just the good/better than the stock motor.

Stock setup is fine. Just get a lipo alarm/buzzer so you know when your battery is running low.

If you're getting a new motor/ESC, go for a Hobbywing brushless set. It's pretty much the cheapest branded set you can get.

You're welcome.

You'll find answers to most questions on the internet. For example, if you searched for "TEU-101BK lipo", you'd get information regarding your ESC and if it's Lipo compatible.

You can get answers faster, and sometimes better ones too.

Goodluck.

Is your ESC a TEU101, or a TEU104? The 104 is compatible with Lipos. If you've ot the 101, for not much more than the Lipo alarm costs, you could buy the 104. Keeps the wiring on the chassis a bit neater.

The 104 has a low voltage cutoff suited to the LiFe batteries and not Lipo's!!! It can still be used with Lipo's but you cannot rely on it to protect your lipo as the voltage cutoff is set too low for that battery type.
