Hi mate.

Worth trying a few or all of the following:

(1) If your transmitter has exponential, turn that down also
(2) try a harder front tyre
(3) loosen the ball diff a little
(4) use some traction compound on the rear tyres
(5) add some weight to the chassis, as low down near the rear axle as possible

The F1's are temperamental beasts until you get them in the ball park setup wise, then you wont be able to wipe the grin off your face!

Good luck

Cheers,

Steve

Any help/tips would be great.

First thing I would change would be rear tyres to PS-0545... then a softer rear spring if necessary ... after that the other suggestions above would be next

The 3 racing 48 pitch spur gears are for touring cars and the holes are there to attach the pulleys. There are only 8 holes on the inner ring which would make the action a bit rough I think. The kit spur is to big for 21 turn blinky. You can get smaller ones and 64p pinions from tqrcracing and other.

The 3Racing spurs are perfectly fine. The holes are there for use in ball diffs, just because it doesn't have 16 holes doesn't mean it can't be used. The standard Tamiya spurs only use 6 balls and I never use more than 8 balls even if the spur gear has space for more. Too many diff balls can lead to diff problems as the friction load is spread over more surfaces making it harder to stop slipping when you try to set a free moving diff.

I would also always use 48dp gears especially in an F1. An accident can cause the motor to move slightly, usually just enough to strip 64dp gears while a 48dp gear will just get a little noisier.

A kimbrough 73t 48dp spur gear using 12 balls works perfect. Add a 25 t pinion and you get 2.92.

Hi All,

I'm interested in the F113 as it's at a very good price right now, and that it seems to work well on different surfaces, making it a very competitive car.

Any recommendations of where to get a reliable source of spares for this car?

Cheers
Rob.

For those who have been waiting ages for the F113 suspension arm set to be in stock, they are now in stock at 3 Racing's web site.

That was a picture of a prototype when the car was in pre production.
The design has changed so that there is an additional mounting hole at the top of the motor mount.

Just a quicky .... don't want to derail this new thread.

The Fireball Classic, held at Lincoln/ Nebraska, is going to include F1 this year. As long as enough turn up of course.

Look up Fireball classic on the Nitro on-road thread.

Thanks all.

Regards
BM
