I need help with my speed control and my gearing on a mvp stock motor

i have an explorer II (novak) i know i know it's really crapy but my keyence fried(120.00)! ok back to the topic. when i turn on the controler and then the speed controller the speed control light turns to black and it makes this whistiling sound! is it suppose to do that? because when i use to have my tc2 and keyence it never did that! they just stayed at red and waited until i do something like throttle or turn. about my motor if u want to help me then go to the need help with motor and batteries posted by me with 17 replies. i have about 3 questions there! basically i have a mvp motor and i want to gear it right so that it won't heat up and won't drain my 3000 battery so that it can last longer then 5 mintues! my gearing is 100 th. spur gear, and 38 th. pinion. all 64 pitch. the motor gets really hot. should i gear so that the overall ratio be like 6.5-7?

if you're gonna ask for help. Ask nicely...
Your questions are a little mixed up. so ask one thing at a time.
Maybe you won't be that confused if you take it slow since you're just a newbie.

BTW... You're not getting the GM V12 for 50. You can have it for 60 or you can have the V7.1 for 75. When are you gonna pay me back for the ball bearings? Nothing is free kid.
