Actually he speaks english very well. The night before the mains I was able do get the 411 on the new FK05. Gilles was very helpful showing me his car. Mr Hudy went into great detail explaining how and why he designed the car. They were both very pleasant to deal with.

As for the hack incident, I was filming right behind the chicane and after further review....Martin got a little wide and forced his way back into Blackstock. Was it on purpose? I don't know but he should have let the faster cars through.

Gilles was on a mission that week and no one was on pace with him. In the pits, I heard Blackstock even admit that he probably wouldn't have caught him. But he never got a chance to do so.

Funniest thing out of this was hearing Mr. Hudy yell to Baker, "Barry, you are not normal" after Barry was voicing his opinion to Hudy. There was plenty of profanity going back and forth but no punches were thrown.

WOW! A lot of whining in here!

Anyway!.......I had a great time at my first Snowbirds. It didn't go as well as I would have liked it to but a lot of the top drivers had just as hard of a time as well. I am sure Billy Easton would have rather been at a Dart throwing tournament with the luck he was having.

A special congratulations goes out to Jilles, you drove awesome and kept your cool the way that only a European can do. Thank you to DEREK FURUTANI for continuing to make the best motors in the world. Team Orion and Peaks dominance is all because of you. Thank you to Xray for providing me with the best touring car in the world. I definately did not drive as well as my car worked. Good thing there are more races coming up!

As a side note......and just my opinion. The current European dominance will continue until the US drivers stop racing for the money and get back to racing because they love racing and truly have the desire to win.

It is no coincidence that there are no U.S. drivers in Formula One.

But they had to be good to begin with to get sponsored in the first place....

Hodapp, methinks you're hitting things pretty close on that one...

If Michael Schumacher gave up his highest paid athelete salary and just drove for the love I'd beleive that. We're all doing it in part for the money, to be quite honest.

I wouldn't say having 6 out of 10 in mod TC dominant, or less than that in Mod GTP. There are races that some people have better luck in. I think some of the cars that they were using were better on carpet than the US drivers. I'd find it hard pressed to say that there wasn't a US factory driver there that didn't have the desire to win.

Does Europe have some better tracks and take racing overall more professionally, probably. But it's funny when US drivers complain too much about what's going on over here, but do nothing to change it.

I guess making sense is journalism? Don't blame the world for our own problems or say that else where is better.

If the neighbors grass is greener maybe it's because we forget to water our own once in a while.

We can learn a lot from a fortune cookie. The thing I see different is that the racers in europe don't waste their time bitching and complaining about where racing is better. I haven't read where they come here and race and say it sucks. I read nothing but US complaining. It gets old when the racers that do this for a living have nothing good left to say about the industry that feeds them. If all I did is complain about my job and how bad it was...i'd have a new job.

Greg, I'm not saying this about you but our drivers need a swift kick in the nuts. Why would a young racer want to aspire to be anything when the people at the top say such things.

ZZZZZ all you want, but the problem is actually waking up.

Jilles comes from Holland (The Netherlands), Joel comes from Sweden. In most countrys in Europe we learn English as our second language from age 6 in school. Little later, we can add French, German or Spanish as well.

In most European countrys, we also hear and therefore learn quicker, English from TV, Films a.s.o
Some countrys like Italy, Germany and France, they dubb the voices from the movies, and this slow learning down.
As Juraj Hudy is coming from a former eastern european country ( Slovak ) they have no options than to learn Russian, and German, so yes, his English is not as good as ours, but he is trying as good as he can, and Martins English have improved enormus the last years. Give them a chance guys, before you made yourself funny about there skill.
How many language do YOU speak?

Knowing different language is valuble. Andreas speaks, apart from Swedish of course, English, German and Japanees, and that just gives him a lot of great oportunities.

In Finland, they learn Swedish in school, as like 8% of the population spek Swedish there. By some strange reason, the Finnish RC drivers donīt speak Swedish with us from Sweden. I think they just want to made some kind of statement as they are forced to learn Swedish...
Most funny is Simo Ahoniemi. He speak Swedish fluent when he is drunk... Deny he can, when he is sober...
