What am I missing here? The space for the pinion seems small. The largest I can fit is a 25 with the stock spur which comes out to 7 fdr.

What size is the stock spur again? If a am correct it's for mod basically which means you would only want to use a 19-22 size pinion. Most stock class guys are using a 88-96 64 pitch spur. Them you would be able to get a pinion range in the high 50's depending on your spur choices from that point.

Stock spur is 85. I can only fit a 25 pinion in there. Nowhere NEAR a 50

The Kit spur is 48dp and my car came with an 82 spur.
Kimbrough spur gears fit
I was running 27/81 at the weekend which is 6:1.
If you are running 17.5 blinky then you will need a lot smaller spur gear (around 66 for 48dp).

You should switch to 64p gears. They are a lot smoother.

64 pitch doesn't make the car smoother than 48pitch. It just allows for finer gear ratios adjustments.

Love my new Blitz bodies. Also decided to test out going back to 18mm stock steering arms with 3mm shims. I'm sold. They felt great and plenty of steering at high speeds.

think I found the problem with the setup, the right rear axle drive pin, (the part the blade fits on) was broke, but only half of the pin so the blade would work, and then slip off and not and back and forth. explains why it would be good for a few laps then turn to crap, then get good again.
