The car is little heavy overall and the aluminum screws with the lighter VTX1 is a better choice in my opinion.

For the oil i just use AE 37.5 weight oil. The cst ratings differ from oil manufacture but commonly a 350CST is like a 30 AE oil.

Sorry, electric off road guy at heart. Where are you guys starting with shock oil? From my understanding 350cst can be like 3 different measurements - would most consider that just 35wt?

Thanks guys.

Getting closer - painted a body tonight. Hoping to get out and run a test or two before Snowbirds.

Has anyone tested the flex chassis? And how does it perform compared to the stock chassis. Thanks

Tried it once on low/medium grip asphalt, found it was a little less responsive and generated a little more understeer. Wasn't a fan on that day, but I see that it is very popular in other racer's setups. I might try it again.

I'm running the flex chassis and top deck on carpet. It makes the car a little more forgiving and maybe opens the setup window somewhat. The kit chassis is obviously sharper in the corners with very little flex. Not much difference on the clock for me, it's all about feel...a little smoother drive with the flex. IMO

What are you guys running for low/medium grip ashphalt? I have been working on my car for like 3 weeks now. Been getting better and better.Super fast, but a little on edge. I have not really messed with the roll centers, that will be this weekend. Thanks in advance. Here are some pics....

Not a specific asphalt trick, but a little way back in the thread someone mentioned changing the ackerman spacers from the stock 3 mm to as little as 1 mm. I did that on mine and it was a ton better. It looks like yours still has the 3 mm spacers in it.

Check out my setup on Facebook in the arc driver group, Bradd Vercoe
Car has been very good of late

Basically half mm under all 4 blocks, long front link, long rear wheelbase, and no sway bars. Super easy to drive

Ok I will look at it. Taking the sway bars off didn't make it less responsive?

Gotta try that...no sway bars, the car is so narrow and rolls very little. I haven't taken a sway bar off since the TC5! Thanks for sharing.

Granted that it may not change direction quite as good, but the additional grip, and resultant corner speed is pretty impressive.

Oh i forgot to add, im using the Cyrul carpet setup inboard lower shock mount position also, check out the setup and give it a crack.

I will have to compare the width,i have not noticed any significant difference, but yes i do agree that this car seems to roll less than most.
However i thought that a narrow car will roll more, and a wide car roll less?

Width doesn't define how much it rolls, CG and RC does.

Width affects roll acceleration/speed...

You can't isolate width from roll - changing width changes the roll centre, that will change the moment between the roll centre and the CG, etc etc etc. All geometry changes are interlinked in some way. Setup is a balance.
