I can say I have one. It comes with a crystal type receiver. Go figure a synthesized transmitter and a crystal based receiver. Its a good thing most of my cars have a novak synthesized receiver. It's not really that bad of a radio. It has some nice features, I just ordered a 3pk couldn't pass up on the price plus the spektrum release is soon...

i thought that the 3pm t-fs is the one with the crystal based receiver?i think that the fs is the complete synthesized package.the 3pm tfs is transmitter synthesized only with crystal receiver which doesn't make sense but altough it saves u a little money, but overall,if u want to make a synthesized radio system,go with the complete set with crystalless receiver.i donno what was futaba thinking about

The new 3pk synthesized radio is only transmitter...no synthesized receiver or crystal receiver. Futaba seems to be way behind the curve. You only a little at a time

These synthesized transmitter only radios are made because it's illegal in the US to change the crystals in the transmitter.
While it's not illegal to change the crystal on the receiver, so therefore they have made the radios in such a way to follow the rules exactly.

Anyway, you dont really want a super large synthesized receiver to be taking up a lot of space on your car.
