Hey John,
I am running kimbrough spurs, mine don't rub, not sure what is wrong...with my car...because everyone's seem to rub, except for mine...oh well.

Stinks that they designed this car so you need to use the Xray skinny spurs...but luckily there is PRS to the rescue for 64 pitch. I had to grind down the side of the Kimbrough so it wouldn't rub. (talk about annoying when the car has been fully assembled and then you need to get the spur off)

Hey John!

This is Abhi from Horsham RC. I ran the '05 for the first time last night. My best with the Tamiya and Losi was 23 or 24 laps...with the '05 I went 26, 27 and in the Main 28 laps. The 28 lapper is under review because there was a 2 sec lap in there somewhere somehow, but hey from 23-->27!!!


Its all Car and Doc's motor ofcourse!

A quality 2mm driver works perfectly with the kit..

I'm using the 2.0mm Hudy driver from my XB8 kit and it's perfect....

I may get a 2.0mm ball end driver for making adjustments at the track though...

From the ones I've checked, a 5/64" and a 2.0mm are the same. They do not change tooling (or programming) for a .02mm difference between the two as most suppliers can't hold that tight a tolerance. I found this out when I bought a complete set of hex drivers and measured the ends out of curiosity. When I complained to the manufacturer about the two being the same they explained about the tolerances and replaced my duplicate hex driver with straight edge one.

I imagine they must get a chuckle every time they sell a complete hex driver set (with both imperial and metric) that has two of the same driver in it (just different handles). Man are we suckers!

that mean a lot of you guys have duplicate ones? wanna sell me one? as long as its tip is in great shape im up to buy just that 2mm wrench, pretty much fed up with my allen keys now.

Funny thing about allen keys it that you strip the allen key before you strip the screw. So no matter how bad it seems the allen key is slipping and not grabbing, a *GOOD* hex wrench will most likey get it out with very little effort.

I recommend Hudy wrenches...a bit more expensive, but worth the quality and weight savings. The Dynamite ones are pretty good too, the ones with the red machined handles.

the tolerances on cheap alllen keys are terrible too. which is probably another big reason why they strip themsleves and screws so easily.

I ran the car last night at Socal. I used an old one-way from an EVO-II. I just flipped it around and used 2mm spacers. The car initially had some major push. Made some changes and got rid of most of it, but it still has push. The car is definetly a lot more predictable than the Pro 4 I've been running.

Great. That's amazing that a change of cars can add 4 laps overnight. Congratz... I'll see you next sat. I've had to "modify" my 05 because I didn't like the design of a few things
