yeah some great features, and no doubt it will be quick.. and yeah, i'll probably get one, but i very much doubt i will be quicker with this car.

the spur looks like a pain to change. it has all the feature of the pro 4 i never liked (hidden spur, batts all on one side).

still not convinced maybe i am trying to fool myself because i have two olf fk's.... but i doubt it.

that front oneway, is it interchangable with the old fk? i hope juraj hudy didn't pull a fast one and made it smaller/wider/fatter or whatever on purpose ... i think he did.

honestly though, i can't see how this new car will make me any quicker. the quick guys at mytrack were using the old fk to exceptional results... so i can't see how i can go wrong with the old design. just one shit line and any advantage i may of gained if i used the new car is already lost.
isnt this the same with any car?

The New Xray is looking pretty good. But to any of those who have a trf415 or a kit that has the motor hanging off the side like that, could they tell me if they have had any real problems with the motor being hit? Say if you hit a board on that side of the motor will it effect it? Will the endbell come loose or off? Thats really the only "con" i can see in this new kit besides maybe changing the spur gear.

Also, does anyone know if the new kit can hold a 128t spur like the FK?? I am guessing now.

I have destroyed a motor because of that, the brush hood got hit on a board, and went into the armature. The only part of the motor that's still usable is the can...

Ouch, so it sounds like some people might have that problem with the new Xray coming out... Did they put a price tag on or a release date yet? I dont think i am gonna get this kit until all the little problems; if there are any, are resolved. I still looks liek a great kit, then again i would hate to take away the saddle batteries and make them 6 straight again....

Is there any wieght problem with the kit? Being the batteries are on 1 side? I am pretty sure we are going to have to tweak this kit alot with the weight on 1 side.

Other than that, looks like Xray still uses its interchangable parts which is great for people who have them.

My first thought when seeing the pictures.....I hate taping in battery packs...I really love the way the FK secures the packs, any chance of a similiar system for the FK'05....

Besides that, changing the spur looks to be a bit of work

Is it me or do the bulkheads look farther apart then the FK?

I think there is a battery strap as well if you look on TeamXray.com

I believe you can strap your batteries in and/or tape them in. If i am correct in one of the pictures on TeamXray.com it shows you the kit with all the electronics. Has batteries taped and has a battery strap.

Well, seeing that the chassis has been milled out where the motor is I would say the most it will fit is a 112. On the 415, I am running a 110. I wonder what the internal drive ratio will be for the new Xray??

There is going to be an optional battery strap available. In fact it looks pretty cool with an X machined into it. The bulkheads are spaced the same because they are using the FK front and rear shock. Also it looks like the US kits will include a front diff.

JDXray is correct. Go under Descriptions and it should be the 13th square link from the left. #3 pic. or ...

Actually the whole world will get a diff, a one-way and a spool. The front diff is like a Swiss Army knife.

I agree with the motor positioning being dangerous. On my old XXXS, even though the chassis acted like a motor guard, I still had to bury some very good motors ... may the rest in peace.

Noticed the battery strap 2 seconds after I posted

So is 1.7 a rounding or did the new layshaft pulley change the ratio from 1.77 to 1.7?

Compare the motor mount location to the cars that use a similar layout...

FK05

The Xray motor mount sits inboard of the bulkhead
Just the endbell is over the edge of the chassis.....and the chassis is only 104mm wide.....

The others have their motor mounts integrated with the bulkhead...moving it more to the outside...

the Corally RDX

The Tamiya 415
