Designing the adjustable diff height adjustment in the FK05 was a great technical advancement. Now, all the other manufacturers have to go back to the drawing board to add the adjustable diff height adjustment feature. The FK05 will set the standard at least for the next few years in the touring scene until some other company can make something with better quality.
Yes, winning races helps sell kits, but building solid quality products will keep consumers as customers. Bottomline, Xray is bringing rc to next level. When someone says "Xray", I immediately think quality. Look at their website, look at their products, look at their customer service, look at their response to supply issues in the US - they created the RC America facility. How many company owners do you know discuss technical issues with their customers online? It's impossible to keep all your customers happy, but by far Xray has made the best attempt at customer service.
I can see quite a few people are pissed off at Xray as well. It's human nature to dislike a company that's a leader in their industry. Negative attitudes towards a company are a good thing. Without the negative attitudes, a company becomes complacent and satisfied with their product. Negative attitudes, if anything, will make a company push the envelope even more.
Can't wait to get the FK05...

My comments are being misunderstood here. Yes, I am not happy about the fact that I will be dumping 100+ on getting this new car better on carpet but i can live with it because most other companies do the same. Corally is the exception but that kit version was way late the last time I checked. The fk05 will be my third xray...I am responsible for people running the car at my track so I definately am a fan of the company. What I dont like to hear is how I dont need something and Tony basically continues to say that factory guys run the 2.2. Yes I understand....they dont do it indoors...that is outdoors. I dont run outdoors so I DONT CARE. I just keep saying that at EVERY indoor race I have been to, big or small, they have all had thick chassis and hard arms on their car....period!!! In fact, at last years carpet nats here in cleveland, Stock drivers had XRC chassis on their car before they were released (which I beleive is against the rules)...a few others had chassis that mysterisously looked like BMI chassis. So bottom line is that I am ok with Xray choosing not to release a carpet version but then let me gripe a little bit.
Lets be real here...Xray makes the best stuff but they are not perfect. There are a huge number of shops and racers that will never touch xray again after the parts issues from the last year (insert your "there was no parts issue comments here). The car wins the rc extreme shootout and then virtually disappears from the shops because there were none to be had in most places. As I mentioned before, I had purchased a second kit so I had parts....I ended up lending parts to guys that had various forms of sponsorships from RC america. It was a problem and even as we speak, guys at our track have various items on backorder....one being sway bar kits.
In an earlier post I mentioned the TC4 and I then read Andreas saying that someone said the TC4 was better. I hope that was not an interpretaton of what I said. The xray is way better but I used it as a reference for the US kits.
Tony...not sure I understand the arms comment but how about getting them releases and while they do that, make sure they have a droop screw hole a little farther from the hinge....now that the new chassis has room for it.

I looked to see if I had any pictures of my car with the bumper but I could not find anything. Not sure what you want to see....the bumper is one of the most unspectacular parts on the car. It work and it works good....I dont car if it had pink hearts all over it, I would run it! you will have to wait for Kevin to post something here. Sorry guys

Wow, a lot more development on this thread for the last couple of days just by scanning it. Actually I just stopped reading this thread entirely, cause I've been busy looking at RDX carpet spec and reading the RDX thread.
You boys have fun with the new FK05.... maybe if they decide to come out with a carpet spec car next fall, I'll think about it. But for now with my outdoor racing, it's the World Champ TRF 415.

im unable to get the setup sheets, 2005 catalog, and the manual
3 files - fine
5 files - 0 kb
Tried using a DL manager first, and it could only get those 3, and using 'Save Target As...' doesnt help any either
i'll give it an hour, then i'll throw a tantrum cos i want to build it in my head :P
