I will say that this fk05 configuration should work really good. People were concerned about all the batteries on one side vrs the old layout but I will tell you that my RDX (which shares a similar layout) balanced out closer to perfect that my old split cell xray and the weight is moved more center of car (both side to side and front to back) so I believe this design looks promising much like my RDX I love more than the current FK. Good job Xray on the new car......Now just get the support better!!!

There will be more pics and info released tomorrow to coincide with Xray's first public showing of the car at the Nurenerg toy fair this week in Germany....
check www.teamxray.com tomorrow as well as keep your eyes peeled here as people get some REAL info instead of the speculation that has kept this thread and the prototype thread hopping these past few weeks....

I kind of wonder if as the battery gets closer to the center of the chassis, ala the FK'05 and JRX-S, if the rollcenter gets more extra sensitive to adjustments to the point that just adjusting it by the mounting of the upper link is going to be merely a ballpark adjustment. The exact length of the link will come more into play in the adjustment than it has been. I figure this could be why some people aren't as fast as they were with their old car. The roll adjustments are maybe too sensitive for most people? There is always a learning curve though with a new car.
Good for racing, just not good for keeping your hair.

hmmm looks ok, has some nice features like the serpent 710 style front oneway, and height adjustable rear diff... but i'm wondering how often i'd probably use the rear diff adjustment as a tuning option?
if my setup is off, adjusting the rear diff height won't help
also, you can have the thinnest chassis in the world, litterally, and this is all well and good for carpet, but if you have a huge baulky hacker 6turn modified motor hangin out the side, scrapping the ground, it sort of defeats the purpose of the chassis design in the first place.
i like the larger pulley design though, and the smaller spur gear.
honestly though, i can't see how this new car will make me any quicker. the quick guys at mytrack were using the old fk to exceptional results... so i can't see how i can go wrong with the old design. just one shit line and any advantage i may of gained if i used the new car is already lost.

I think it is a great looking car.
I was too a bit thoughtful regarding the motor hanging out on the side of the design.
But after watching how well the TRF 415 runs I have no doughts that this layout is very effective.
Also, if you pay close attention, the motor plate is not a part of the rearbulkhead. In this respect they have place the motor plate closer to the center of the car. For this reason you have to place the pinion with the teeth facing the motor.
