I just got a PT. I know I can zip tie it some where near the front, but I wanted to get some info on how people are mounting their PT's in an FK05. I would rather use a screw through the tabs just to keep it looking factory. Thats really a main concern as I like a clean look to my chassis. Pics would be great.

I am glad to see someone else using those wheels Bob. I think they are the greatest. Your install looks really nice. My ESC is too large to allow me to mount my rec on the chassis so my rec sits on the servo. I will have to see about the side though YR4. Is there any defecit in resale value if you remove the tabs? I ust got mine used and I am hesitant to remove its virgin ears. Maybe I just need to get over it. Any one else do it differently? I was hoping to get the PT a little closer to the front.

The only time I've seen it mounted properly with screws was on a 1/8 buggywith a specific mount for the PT to screw in. Other than that I've seen others try to mount it be one or two screws on extra holes on the front shock tower but that looks hack.
Eventtually the unused tabe tend to break off, but that won't ever affect the function of it. As for resaling it, I can only see a nitro buggy guy would expect to have the mounting tabs.
However, a personal transponder is exactly what it is PERSONAL! So long as I race, I don't ever plan on selling my PT. That number on it is mine and mine alone. When your local track scans your transponder number it pulls up your name or at least the last name the was registered with the number. Selling it would be like selling your driver's licence number.

Well, I will tell you that putting your pt on the shock tower is silly just like mounting your reciever on top of your servo. The last one you dont have a choice right now but the pt you do. All of the new cars are made to have a low cg and then people put stuff up high in the car or run the wires over the topdeck. Check out the shop car if you want to see how you can mount the pt up front behind the bumper. Other wise you could just mount it on the outside of the servo.
