Looks like people should just buy AE or Losi 30's... If you're not liking the XRay oils, then go with something else that you know.

Josh Cyrul mentioned that it is probably right between AE 45-50. I personally like the Xray 30. You get a better feel of how a car reacts when trying team drivers setups. If your really concerned, do a drip test along a strip of plastic at 45* angle to see which one runs the same as Xrays.

You should also take into account that you need to properly build the Xray shock and make sure the bladder is functioning properly. Also when working the air bubbles out when using the adjustable pistons, make sure that you work the clicking groove into each slot of the main shock body. And also make sure you're opening and closing the holes as you work it up and down. Some guys wonder why after a few runs they hear air bubbles. I've gone more than a month without rebuilding my shocks and they all rebounded perfectly the same. I modded them with Serpent bladders because they were softer and bounced back to shape without dimpling. I think the newer Xray bladders are now the same way.

I would agree Mdoc... I think we would all be biased in this thread, as would the guys in the corally thread... Can you talk to some guys at your track that run these cars? maybe get to drive a few laps with the cars at your track? does your hobby shop carry more parts for one car over the other? I have never driven a corally, but for me atleast, after driving my fk-05, there is no other car that i'd want to drive... car handles great, very durable, and carries more corner speed than any car i've ever had....

I had an FK04 last year, and just picked up an FK05 - mainly because I'm already set up with springs, spring steel axels, spares and have a knowlege of the suspension.

If I hadn't owned the FK04, it would have been a toss up between the FK05 and Corally. The Corally, even at $430 for the carpet ikit, seems like it might end up cheaper. After you buy an Xray, spring steel axels, a battery strap, a 3mm chassis if you weren't lucky enough to get one of the 150 that had them, a different top deck, possibly some aluminum C-hubs and rear toe blocks, hard suspension arms, and better shocks, it adds up to a lot of money!! Not to mention springs and spare parts! The Xray is a great car and I don't regret buying it, but I can't see as much stuff that people are adding on to the cost of the RDX kit.

BTW, first race with the FK05 tomorrow

Josh

Hi guys...

Here are a few pics of my brand new T1 FK'05. The building process is almost finished. Gonna hit the track tomorrow...

Sorry for the medium quality of the pics. They're taken with my mobile phone.

Ciao.

Blin,

somebody stated on this thread before that the new kit comes with black screws... yours has the original ones. I'm confused (again )
