It's all good now, I got it to work on the outside hole and with the shocks almost (like maybe .25 mm off) straight. I just want to start with a my "known setup" and adjust from there, I know what to do to it "for my driving style" to get more/less traction etc, etc ...don't want to throw even more curve balls into the equation. We'll see how it does this weekend in the head-to-head ...A-Yo's letting me use his car for the day so I'll run qualifiers with both cars in both classes and see what the results are.

that would just make my day. It would be great to get the diffs and spur out quickly. One can only dream. On thing, one should be able to get them as an upgrade to the 05 and not a brand new car. That would reel me back some of that happened.

Just a little change you can have what you want.. use e-clips outside the bulkhead to mount the center spur gear shaft. The shaft could not be made in one piece with the spur gear holder just like what xray always did to achieve true running balance. If bulkhead must have opening access = new bulkhead, most likely you will see FK06.

Default I like the BD alot but...

you can't get a chassis for carpet. Otherwise those design features do it for me. Two peice bulkheads would put the 05 over the top as far as access ease goes.

I think you will find they may come out with a 1 piece left hand rear bulkhead and motormount combined to allow you to run without the screw in the topdeck to the motormount - giving equal chassis flex left to right. Currently there is too much flex between the motor mount and the rear bulkhead when using a 2mm chassis to be able to run without this screw otherwise constant spur mesh becomes a problem.

New Car

I don't think Xray will release a new car anytime soon. How can you improve on the 05? Like everyone has talked about just maybe improve the rear bulkhead design for easier diff and spur gear access. But if you run the BMI chassis for the 05 this 2 piece design allows you to mount the motor mount further forward for better weight transfer.

One question, how differently is everyone gearing their cars for the new batteries? Example: 3300s vs 3600s vs 3700s vs 3800s

I hear that you can gear 3300s and 3600s about the same but have to gear the 3700s and 3800s a little different.

Thanks,

The FK05 was released to the public is April/May of this year, I don't think we will see a new car too soon, it really has not been out for long.

agreed , maybe we all looked at the picture wrong, lighting and the camera can play big roles in distortion of pictures
