What is a good starting point in gearing a 48P FK04? I believe it has the standard pulleys. What gear ratio is good of stock indoor running on rubber tires? What about 19T indoor/rubber tire? The track is medium sized mix.
Do xrays use the same size shock springs as AE?

the ratio for a fk04 is 1.77 and your gearing depend on whats kind of motor you running and sized of the track! me for my track:
Monster Pro i have a roll out of 23-24
P2K2 is about 27-28
and you will heard if a motor is too overgeared and under geared!! if your motor will scream like a fool and you are ate the midlle of the straigth is overgeared !! what you want is to hear your motor is at his limit at the 3/4 of the straigth or at the end depend on how long his the straigth!! and the Monster motor is good for long tracl it has more RPM and the p2k2 is good for some tigth track lot of torque!! but i think they are both very good motor!!
The spring from associated fits perfect on the xray!! they are litle bit short than the xray spring so you will need to play whit the ride height

How much shorter are the AE springs? Roughly what pinion/spur get you the 23-24 rollout with the monster stock?

this is a roll out of 23 for the monster whit rubber!! with foam you need to calculate the roll out everyrun because yoour tire diameter is shorter because the foam tire is used!
