No doubt about it, the 05 is a replacement.
Maybe factory people will do that, but not the public since the 04 is harder to find than the lost treasure of Atlantis.

Yeah, I have a friend that bought one from SW at speedtech. It was his personal car, and my friend paid top dollar so he wouldn't have to wait on one from the factory.

Who says this car will be easier to get than the FK04?

I think the only reason the 04 got so hard to find is they had already begun retooling and preparing to manufacture the 05..who could have known so many 04 cars would be sold as fast as they were....

very well said

Any other TC is like a toy compared to an Xray.

The T1FK05 really looks good so does the HB proto but I really like the fact the diff works for a very long time without a rebuild with the Xray.
Spoke to some drivers yesterday using their diffs from the FK04 for 100-150 runs. But also heard Xray is working on a shaft car. Maybe they are going the same way as Tamiya and HPI/HB offering a belt and shaft car so you have a choice for your favourite drive system.

Now where did that come from? There is no shaft car in the works. Why would XRay do that? They are very succesfull with their belt drive cars. And not only XRay is. The past two World Championships were won using belt drive cars confirming the shaft drive is at best as good as belt drive but certainly no better.

tonyv,

any updates on when the 05 will be release. Currently sold my 04 and can't race until then.

Default Shaft Car

Shhh....Tony, you are supposed to fuel the fire more, not put it out! Ah yeah, they are working a shaft car for the next Worlds, aka Project FK06, which will use a shaft, motor will be mounted right smack middle of the chassis...yeah yeah, and oh it'll be on top of the shaft to achieve the perfect left/right balance! And 3 cells in stick pick format will line up on each side!!!!

On another note....

I sold both my FK in particaption of the FK05 and meanwhile I'm runing a Tamiya 415. Let me tell you something, the craftmanship is nice, but not like XRAY nice and you have to spend gobs amt of money for aftermarket stuff to make it really work well. Oh well, it's just an interim car.....

Man, I can't wait... Our summer points series starts April 9 - I hope I have the car in time for that. Since you don't know what rumors to believe, it's going to be close it sounds like.

No other car in the works? Who believe that? Itīs not long ago since we heard this about a car now known as T1FK05.

Maybe because there was A story about Xray building A shafty from day one, and the T1FK05 came pretty much out of nothing.
