how exactly do you make sure you do it right? i want to make a 3hole one outta a 2 hole

Default Thrust bearings...

Ok..

I ran my car about 6 packs with the factory lube in the diffs (US kit). The car was noisey during those 6 packs, so the diffs were pulled apart and greased properly, both the thrust bearing and the diff balls. The thrust bearings were ok at that time...

That was about 15 packs ago. The majority of the time I run stock, though of those 15 likely 5 or so have been with a 19T. Run indoor rubber tires on carpet.

My dilemma... The diffs now feel terrible.. notchy, gritty. How often do you guys pull the diffs and grease them? I am worried now that the thrust bearings have failed... if I pull the diffs apart and discover this to be the case I won't have a car to drive, at $30(CDN) each the thrust bearing that the car should have come with originally is pretty expensive and my LHS doesn't have any anyways. (No Corrally support locally so a substitute is not available either)

ANYONE had a response from XRay about what they intend to do about the thrust bearing issue? I am not handing $60 out only to discover XRay is going to address this issue properly.

Has anybody noticed different axle bearings being used in the 05 kit compared to the 04 kit ? It seems as though they are using a cheaper bearing because it took me 4 months to wear out an 04 where I wore one out in a week on the 05 !

i am pretty sure someone mentioned before, that the losi xxx-s molded thrust assembly fits perfect, i have actually tried it without any problems, i think they are only 5 bucks or so.

jag88- i have not noticed a difference in the bearings included with the new car. are you talking about the outdrive bearings? they will wear on a regular basis but it should be gradual, are you sure you did not take a hard hit in the rear end? they should not wear that quickly otherwise...

Bad news Alberto we (Ashford Hobby) ordered this item when the price list was introduced and we have yet to see them. We got a stock order in Friday and they were not in that order. I suggest you contact the shop you got the kit from and have them contact R.C. America. May be some one will come up with a spare until these are available.

there is a NIP servo saver assembly on ebay, but im not sure if it will fit your car. Is that part interchangable between all the T1 series?

Jag, I noticed it too. The 04 came with 11-balls per bearing. They were more durable but took longer to break in. If you ever bought the Xray High Speed bearings for replacements before the 05 came out, you'd notice that they were only 9-balls per bearing. Super fast out of the package, but had a grittier sound after a few runs. Seems like the HS ones are the ones in the FK05 kit. Flush them good and put a drop or two of bearing lube every other week--depending on how often you race.

As far as my diffs goes, they were properly lubed. But I black greased the thrust bearings anyway.
