Default front diff halves

I broke a right front caster block today that caused the axle bone to bend and that pushed the bone into the outdrive causing it to mushroom out. Now from looking in the manual it looks as though you have to buy a whole diff assembly. Does anyone know if you can by the halves or the spring steel units seperately

Hi ppl i ran my fk 05 for the first time. The problem i found was that it seemed to squeel alot liek the diffs high pitch noise. I even took them apart before i ran and lubed the 12 balls up BUT NOT THE THRUST BEARINGS

Cood it be that teh thrusts are dry in which it makes a squeeling noise under acceleration? if so do i need circlips to take that clip off to get to the thrust bearings??

That squeeling could be your pinion to spur mesh is too tight ... or your pinion is too worn-out. You may want to check that.

If you are ruinning 48-p gears, try tightening your pinion to your spur with a sheet of paper in-beween the two giving you a 0.5 mm gap. Once you are done tightening down the motor screws, roll the spur gear so that you remove the pinion and you should have a perfect mesh.

Can't seem to find hobby shop that got them in stock.

Anyone know where to get the SS outdrive or just solid alu outdrive (I think # 30 5010) please let me know.

True X-Ray/R.C. America has removed the XRA 305015 & XRA305025 from their price list. We have one set left in stock.

We also stock the XRA305015 SS Diff Out Put Shaft-Long

picco007 - I used the rubber tire carpet setup as a base for an asphalt. About the only thing that I have done is use the outside hole on the rear hub and I removed the two front alum standoffs that go from the upper deck to the chassis. You will need to put a spacer under the tie rod on the hub carrier. I used a 2mm sapcer. I ran this weekend using that setup, the setup was really good. I was able to run down and pass guys that I usaully can just keep up with. The car is awesome so far.

Later, Lee

My car was noisey after greasing the diff balls only, once the diff was dismantled and the thrust bearings greased it became much quieter.

Anybody know a rough estimate of how much weight people are having to add to make the 05 ROAR legal (1525 grams)?
